Singer-songwriters Julien Baker & TORRES have finally released their debut single as a duo, "Sugar in the Tank". The collaboration has been teased for a while now, with the pair performing live together a handful of times, and then, ultimately, playing the song on Jimmy Fallon earlier this week.

Now, a studio version of the song has officially been released. Listen below:

"Formed by their shared experiences of growing up queer in the south, ‘Sugar in the Tank’ not only reflects Julien Baker & TORRES’ love of country music, but joyfully reclaims the genre’s traditions and iconography which until only recently felt exclusionary."

While the song, out on Matador records, is the first official song that Baker and TORRES (aka Mackenzie Scott) have released as a pair, they've both been quite busy as of late. Baker is, of course, one third of boygenius (along with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus), who released their debut album The Record in 2023. Her last solo album, Little Oblivions, came out in 2021.

Scott, meanwhile, released her newest TORRES album, What an enormous room, just this past January.

No word is out yet on if the pair will have more music for us in the new year.
