In a video posted on TikTok on November 29, American dancer/singer JoJo Siwa detailed a brief trip to the hospital just hours before a Black Friday performance at Mall of America.

In the days leading up to the performance, she reported "excruciating pain" in the abdominal area that intensified the morning of.
"I had three hours before the performance, and so I was like, ‘I’m just gonna lay down and close my eyes and hope for the best.'"
After attempts to relieve the pain, Siwa called her parents who called an ambulance. With just hours to go before her performance, she assumed she would have to either cancel or reschedule. But within two hours, Siwa received pain medication along with an answer to what was causing the pain.
"I went and got an ultrasound, and the ultrasound revealed, long story short, that one of my ovaries had a cyst on it that burst and was bleeding into my stomach."
To the amazement of many, Siwa was discharged from the hospital in time for the performance. Siwa said a check-in was recommended for next week.
