Atlanta rapper JID has revealed his latest single "WRK", a track teased during his performance at J. Cole's Dreamville Festival earlier this month.
Produced by Pluss and Christo, Stereogum calls the song "a dynamic and bouncy track, showing off JID’s agile flow, packed with melodic cries and an unexpected vocal shift from the rapper towards the end."
Check out the cover art and song below:

JID announced the track's official release via Instagram, with a cryptic message alluding to a new era in the Dreamville rapper's artistry.
“Starting this new journey coming off The Forever Story has been a very strange, productive yet tedious process,” he wrote in the video, going on:
“I remember not feeling like I got what I think I deserved after that album came out and it sent me into a dark place (for maybe 20 mins cus I ain’t no b*tch). Fast forward to Pluss playing this beat for me in the studio and all I could hear was my OG coach saying ‘Let’s go to WORK.’ I live my life by the saying ‘You can only control what you can control.’ So this is the first step into a new world that I control. And. It’s. Fuckin. UGLY.”
His first track in two years, "WRK" is also JID's first solo single since he unveiled his critically-acclaimed 2022 album The Forever Story. (You can watch Anthony's review here.)
