This past Thursday, January 8th, was Jenny Lewis' 50th birthday, and she celebrated by truly thinking outside the cruel and fruitless dating pool of this life and marrying her true one and only: Bobby Rhubarb, the cockapoo she sang about on her single "Puppy and a Truck" back in 2021. When she sang about being "snubbed by the dogs of L.A." on Rilo Kiley's "The Angels Hung Around", she clearly did not mean this one.
Of course there was a ceremony; you don't just elope with your dog at the courthouse. Morgan Nagler and Farmer Dave Scher performed for the attendees, and Lewis joined Ben Gibbard to sing the Postal Service's "Such Great Heights" and Phantom Planet's Alex Greenwald to do "California". (Yes, The OC's theme.)
This all sounded like good fun and even better content, so check out evidence that this was real below. And congrats to the happy pup-ple.
