Jenny Hval shares video for new single "The artist is absent", announces North American tour

Norwegian musician Jenny Hval has unveiled "The artist is absent", the second taste from her upcoming album, Iris Silver Mist, due out May 2 via 4AD.

The follow-up to the lead single, "To Be a Rose", comes in two different forms: an extended mix entitled "89 seconds rewrite" and the original album version. The former is accompanied by visuals directed by Jenny Merger Myhre, and features Hval and longtime collaborator Orfee Schuijt. Watch the video below:

Iris Silver Mist is the musician and novelist's first album since 2022's Classic Objects. According to a press release, the title is named after the fragance made by the French perfume house Serge Lutens.

Fans will have the opportunity to listen to the forthcoming record in advance at three immersive Dolby Atmos Listening Experiences in New York, Los Angeles, and London. The first two are on April 29 and the latter is on May 1. You can sign-up for access here.
