Jelly Roll and Reba McEntire to join Tim McGraw's Music City Rodeo in Nashville

Nashville, Tennessee, the city most well-known for its deep roots to country music, will now play host to a professional rodeo event just announced by Tim McGraw’s Down Home entertainment group.

The Music City Rodeo will be a combination rodeo/concert in partnership with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), aiming to bring together pro rodeo competition and country music performances into one big mutton bustin’, guitar playin', all-American event.

Scheduled for May 29 to May 31 at the Bridgestone Arena, the rodeo will include classic events such as bull riding and barrel racing. Music performances will feature established artists, including Reba McEntire, Jelly Roll, and Tim McGraw, each set to headline on consecutive days of the event.

Jelly Roll made his pride for his hometown known, as he drew parallels to the moment the city welcomed its pro hockey and football teams. He said:

“I have vivid memories when it was announced in Nashville that we were getting a hockey team with the Predators, or a football team with the Titans…and I watched Bridgestone Arena be built from the ground up. Headlining Music City Rodeo in my hometown as a part of the first rodeo brought to town feels like the same type of milestone.”

While Nashville has previously hosted rodeos, this event is its first with the PRCA. McGraw, who is no stranger to rodeos himself, is excited about bringing the rodeo experience to his hometown.

McGraw said:

“For eight decades, Nashville’s music stars have been the soundtrack to America’s iconic rodeos — country music and rodeo go hand in hand. So, it was time to bring the magic of the rodeo home to Nashville and I’m thrilled to be bringing it here.”

The schedule will also include additional activities, such as a rodeo queen pageant and mutton bustin’, where children can ride sheep. Contestants at the rodeo will vie for a substantial prize pool totaling $200,000.

McEntire commented:

“It’s no secret that rodeo is in my blood, and I’m thrilled to be a part of starting a new Nashville tradition. Country music and rodeo coming together in Music City, what a perfect combination…I just knew I had to be part of it.”

Tickets for the rodeo will go on sale to the general public on March 7 at 10 a.m. CT, with pricing starting at $50. Pre-sale tickets will be made available a day earlier.
