Fresh off the heels of a successful European tour with Zakk Sabbath, renowned metal drummer and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Fabb has once again stepped from behind the drums to release an emotive new solo track, "Into Thin Air".
Listen below:
Launching a solo career in 2023, Fabb's debut effort Stealing Souls marked a significant departure from the heavy metal the Long Island percussionist is known for.
Now, Fabb has entered his rock ballad era with "Into Thin Air", an emotional insight and reflection of life's fleeting moments.
“This song is definitely about loss, love, life… it’s also the realization in one’s life of how much there is to be grateful for, and how short life really is,” says Fabb. “It’s for everyone who has experienced this—and for those who will. Even when things vanish into thin air, we find the strength to keep going.”
Reared in the quiet Long Island town of Mattituck, New York, Fabb started drumming in his preteens before joining a local hardcore band in high school and playing wherever underage kids could get into. After graduating, he headed west to Los Angeles and began answering "drummer wanted" ads in Music Connection.
His first big break came as the founding drummer for In This Moment, featuring powerhouse frontwoman Maria Brink. Having toured the world supporting bands like Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Megadeth, and Mudvayne, among others, Fabb became a hired gun for acts including Filter, Six: A.M., and eventually his current band, Black Label Society.
