Jay-Z says “True Justice is coming” after rape accuser admits to have made “some mistakes” in her allegations

Shawn Carter, also known as Jay-Z, released a statement today via his company Roc Nation’s Instagram account, after a new account from his rape accuser where she acknowledges some inconsistencies in her recollections of that night.

The rapper – who was recently accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 along with hip hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs – claims in the statement that “Today’s investigative report proves this 'attorney' Buzbee filed a false complaint against me in the pursuit of money and fame.”

He is sure that “this incident didn’t happen and yet he filed it in court and doubled down in the press,” and then continues, “True Justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it began. This 1-800 lawyer doesn’t realize it yet, but, soon.”

In a recent interview (14 December) with NBC News, the alleged victim, an Alabama woman, acknowledges “I have made some mistakes” in recalling the allegations made against the Brooklyn-native and the infamous record producer currently being held in custody in New York.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe, maintains her overall allegations are true. Inconsistencies in her account of the incident – which occured 24 years ago – don’t necessarily mean that the entire accusation is false.

One inconsistency is that the woman said her father picked her up after the alleged sexual assault, but her father said he didn't remember that.

Carter's lawyer Alex Spiro also shared a statement about the recent report, saying:

“It is stunning that a lawyer would not only file such a serious complaint without proper vetting, but would make things worse by further peddling this false story in the press. We are asking the Court to dismiss this frivolous case today, and will take up the matter of additional discipline for Mr. Buzbee and all the lawyers that filed the complaint.”

This is part of a major wave of sexual assault lawsuits made against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is currently in custody in New York awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
