At the 2019 Primavera Sound afterparty, Jamie xx watched from the crowd as Erykah Badu ad-libbed in frustration during a technical malfunction. Capturing the moment on his phone, he later transformed the recording into "F.U." — a melodic-techno track now featured on the deluxe edition of In Waves, which dropped earlier this morning.

"F.U." is one of five new tracks on In Waves, joining three singles that were previously released —"It’s So Good," "Let’s Do It Again," and "Kill Dem." The only other unreleased deluxe edition track is "Do Something".
