English pop artist Imogen Heap has released a new single, titled "What Have You Done to Me?" She released it via her own Megaphonic Records, marking her first proper single since 2020's "Phase and Flow".
Listen here:
Though Heap has remained active with in the years between, "What Have You Done to Me?" is her first piece of solo material since 2020, with both an EP (Off Cuts, with fellow Frou Frou member Guy Sigsworth) as well her Chordata Bytes series of records back in 2022.
Chordata Bytes I & II, while both full-length records, were made to serve as a soundtrack to a podcast at the time, thus not landing as a proper return to form for Heap.
"What Have You Done to Me?" doesn't quite channel the sonic palette of something like her debut Speak for Yourself, but represents a return to form as an electronic pop songwriter. Assuming the song is a teaser for a new full-length album, it would be her first in over a decade.
