Not many albums are released on 7" vinyl these days, but then not many bands are like Joe & The Shitboys, creators of some of the most catchy, sweary, and (very) short punk songs around.

Queer, vegan, and seemingly fearless, the founders of Faroese shitpunk have been touring relentlessly over the past few years, bringing their unhinged live shows to audiences across Europe and beyond. Iggy Pop is such a fan that he's even been using one of their "shitbangers" as his walk-on music at shows.

Having released four singles since March – "MR. NOBODY", "PLEASE SEEK HELP", "LEGALIZE EVERYTHING", and "FUCK EVERYBODY", the band have now set a release date for their third album, The reson For Hardcore vibes IIII, which drops on 20 September via Tutl Records, and has a runtime of just under 11 minutes.

Speaking about the album, vocalist Joe Shit (Fríði Djurhuus) says:

“Most of the songs on this album are about self-realisation, normalisation, and not giving a fuck about the haters; either living your best life or letting others live their best life. It’s our most hi-fi album to date, as we went to an actual studio this time, didn’t mix it ourselves, and it’s not completely recorded live. Proper sell out shit."

The band – including drummer Johnny Shit (Jónsvein Mikkelsen), guitarist Ziggy Shit (Sigmund V.P. Zachariassen), and bassist Sammy Shit (Sjúrður Samuelsen) – are joined on the recording by a new Shitboys member Ólavur Gunnarson á Skipagøtu. As Djurhuus explains: "We didn’t want to re-record anything, so we had him play a different instrument on each of the 10 tracks."
