If you're planning to attend the Super Bowl in February, be prepared for patrolling ICE agents due to Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny's scheduled halftime performance, according to one of Trump's advisors to Homeland Security.
When asked if there would be ICE enforcement at next year's Super Bowl, Trump lackey Corey Lewandowski all-but-confirmed the presence of the American Gestapo.
“There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else,” Lewandowski said on The Benny Show.
“We will find you. We will apprehend you. We will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you. So know that that is a very real situation under this administration, which is completely contrary to what how it used to be,” he said.
The U.S. government and its supporters have been in a furor since the 31-year-old Latin superstar was announced as the headliner for the Apple Music-presented Super Bowl Halftime Show.
“It’s so shameful that they’ve decided to pick somebody who just seems to hate America so much to represent them at the halftime game,” Lewandowski continued.
“I was at the Super Bowl last year with President Trump. I had the chance to be in Louisiana in his box and watch the game, and got to enjoy that,” Lewandowski told podcast host Benny Johnson. “But listen, we should be trying to be inclusive and not exclusive. There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people out there who could be playing at that show that would be bringing people together and not separating them.”
“I don’t care if it’s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else. We’re going to do enforcement everywhere. We are going to make Americans safe. That is a directive from the president. If you’re in this country illegally, do yourself a favor: go home.”
Bad Bunny first drew ire from the Trump administration after announcing his world tour would skip the U.S. over the threat of potential ICE raids.
Despite its politicization, the upcoming performance will make history as the NFL's first halftime show entirely in Spanish.
