hemlocke springs has released her first new song since 2023. “the beginning of the end” dropped last Wednesday along with a music video.

springs revealed that she first wrote the single back in 2018 during a time of self discovery. “I wrote this song seven years ago, when I was meeting people in college who didn’t grow up religious. I was meeting people of different sexualities for the first time and questioning the Christian rhetoric that being gay is an abhorrence,” she said in press materials. “It was a very distinct switch from my upbringing, where I was banned from dating or having sleepovers. So this song is me trying to sort all my thoughts and feelings of once being restricted like, ‘Can’t I have some normalcy?’”

springs will hit the road this fall to support Conan Gray on his upcoming US tour. Major stops include Pittsburgh, Nashville, and San Diego (get tickets here).

hemlocke springs released her debut EP going…going…GONE! in 2023 via AWAL/Good Luck Have Fun. It included her viral hits “gimme all ur love” and “girlfriend” (the latter being named one of the best songs of 2022 by The Needle Drop).
