Guns N' Roses drummer Frank Ferrer leaves band after 19 years

Guns N' Roses drummer Frank Ferrer has left the band after 19 years behind the kit, in what an Instagram post called an "amicable exit". "The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey," they stated.

"Frank first joined GnR during a show in June 2006 helping anchor the rhythm section during subsequent tours, including their recent outings featuring the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. His last show with the band took place November 5, 2023 in Mexico," they added.

Ferrer was the fifth and longest-tenured drummer for the band, joining after previous drummer Bryan "Brain" Mantia left to focus on parenting. Alongside Brain, Ferrer contributed drums to Guns N' Roses sixth and most recent album Chinese Democracy, released in November 2008. He succeeded Guns' best known drummers Steven Adler (1985-90) and Matt Sorum (1900-97) who had performed on all the band's previous releases.
