Guess what song Local H was performing when no one caught their stage diver

Dan Weiss

Illinois post-grunge cult legends Local H were minding their own business performing at the Brat Stop in Kenosha, WI on December 30th and everything was fine. They kicked off proceedings with three(!) Cheap Trick covers "Hello There", "Southern Girl", and "Surrender", apparently because Cheap Trick was big in Kenosha, and they debuted a cover of Steely Dan's "Dirty Work" for the encore.

That's when the duo finally played their biggest hit, "Bound for the Floor", and an errant stage diver proceeded to do just that – no one caught him.

In true Nelson Muntz fashion, frontman Scott Lucas responded to the fail in real time with "That's right, dipshit." You're not gonna get a better anniversary for the song or its underrated parent album As Good as Dead in 2026, though please don't try one at home.

Watch footage of the whole sad rock and roll tragedy below. And brush up on 1998's even more underrated commercial brick Pack Up the Cats while you're at it.

And here's what they sound like when they do your "Dirty Work".

What do you think?
