The Grammys will honor Prince, The Clash, Frankie Beverly, Taj Mahal, and Frankie Valli with the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award. Prince and The Clash will be recognized during the Grammys ceremony, which airs live on February 2nd. Frankie Beverly, Taj Mahal, and Frankie Vallie will receive their awards at the Special Merit Awards Ceremony, which takes place on February 1st. 

The Lifetime Achievement Awards rewards performers who “during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.” 2024’s recipients were Laurie Anderson, The Clark Sisters, Gladys Knight, N.W.A, Donna Summer, and Tammy Wynette. Other recent recipients include Nirvana, The Supremes, Bonnie Raitt, and Nile Rogers.

The 2025 Grammys will air live on CBS and Paramount+ on February 2nd, 2025. Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Charli xcx, Chappell Roan, Jacob Collier, André 3000, Sabrina Carpenter, and Billie Eilish are all up for the Album of the Year prize. As per usual, Beyoncé leads with the most nominations.
