Gorillaz, the world’s biggest cartoon pop/rock/hip hop band led by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, recently announced their new album The Mountain and shared its lead single “The Dictator”
Today, they’re back with another new track, “The Manifesto”, featuring Grammy-winning Argentine rapper Trueno and posthumous verses from the late Detroit-born D12 member Proof.
In true Gorillaz fashion, the song blends a mix of hip-hop, electronic, and dubby alt-pop influences into something uniquely their own. It’s both chaotic and cohesive in that unmistakable Gorillaz way. The track arrives alongside a visualizer featuring new animation of the band’s virtual members, expanding their ever-evolving digital world for this rollout. Watch and listen:
The Mountain is out March 20th. Pre-order here.
