Gorillaz announce new album The Mountain and share lead single “The Happy Dictator”

Well, we all knew it was coming. After Gorillaz played their recent mystery show, performing a new album start to finish, it was only a matter of time before the album was officially announced. Now fans can rejoice, as Gorillaz have revealed The Mountain is coming March 20 via Kong. Like always, the guest features on this album are stacked!

The album is said to be inspired by life, death, and trips to India. And along with the announcement, the cartoon band has shared the lead single “The Happy Dictator”, featuring Sparks. Listen below:

The single comes with an official visualizer, though knowing Gorillaz, it’s only a matter of time before we get some killer Jamie Hewlett-directed music videos for this one. Alongside the album and single, Gorillaz have updated their Kong Studios interactive website, letting fans explore the band’s studio space. Check it out here.
