French metal giants Gojira caught international attention after becoming the first metal band in history to perform at the Olympics opening ceremony earlier this year. The song they performed is now on streaming services.
Entitled "Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!)," the track is a radical re-imagination of a protest song from the French Revolution. Gojira's performance is enhanced with the talents of opera singer Marina Viotti and composer Victor le Masne. Their performance on July 26th also included nearly 300 classical musicians, and featured the quartet rocking out on the windows of Paris' historic Conciergerie building, with more pyro than a Guy Fawkes wet dream.
