Oh, brother. First, we heard the rumblings about Fyre Festival 2 (if you could call the first one a legitimate festival in any capacity). Then we were told that Fyre would, instead, be the name of a streaming service. Before we knew it, Fyre was put on sale.
It's hard to keep up, but brace yourselves: the Fyre IP has been bought, and will "return" as a weeklong getaway in the Caribbean. The cherry on top? None other than Fyre founder Billy McFarland is said to be involved.
The Honduras excursion was announced on June 2 on Instagram, and through fyrehotels.com. Set to take place from September 3 to September 10, the getaway is touted as the result of Utila, Honduras using Fyre to "bring global attention to this off-the-map gem," according to a press release.
If you are feeling flush, and are one of the "adventurers, creators, [and/or] the curious" that the marketing material brags about, see you in Honduras! Otherwise, feel free to see, from a distance, if this Fyre even ignites.
What do you think?
