Frozen Soul drop 53-second protest song 'Absolute Zero'

Nic Huber

Texas death metal horde Frozen Soul have unleashed a 53-second protest anthem called “Absolute Zero”, a nod to the quartet’s stance on authoritarianism and the anti-immigration forces known as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An official video for the track was also released in tandem. Directed by Brendan McGowan, watch below:

While the song may not even clock in at a full minute, the 53-second ripper has no room for filler as the song features blasts, a breakdown, and guttural vocals that make the case that Hell has indeed frozen over.

Speaking on the song, frontman Chad Green states:

More relevant than the day written — with all of the chaos happening in our country, with ICE killing and ripping apart families, ‘Absolute Zero’ comes as our stance against authoritarianism and the monsters that are enforcing it.”

Speaking on the video, the Texan berserker continues:

“I went and got the biggest sledgehammer I could find, and Sam [bassist] carved ‘icebreaker’ into it. We wrote a little message to the world on it —then I froze a skull I painted in my freezer, put it on a cinder block, and obliterated it. The best ice is crushed ice.”

Complete lyrics below:

"Ground to nothing.
Concealed in snow.
Reduced to
Absolute zero.
Absolute zero."
