After months of speculation, Frank Ocean has officially started filming his directorial debut in Mexico City, Variety reports.
Details about the untitled indie film remain limited, with the only confirmed casting being David Jonsson, known for his roles in Alien: Romulus and Rye Lane. Otherwise, the plot remains under wraps.
Since the release of Blonde nearly a decade ago, the enigmatic Frank Ocean has largely stayed out of the public eye, with only a few notable events making headlines: he launched Homer, a high-end jewelry line; appeared at the 2021 Met Gala; and had a controversial appearance at Coachella, before pulling out of the second weekend.
As for new music, his output has been incredibly scarce, with his last formal releases, "Dear April" and "Cayendo", dropping in 2020. While fans continue to patiently await a new album, they can at least look forward to exploring his creative vision through a different avenue soon.
