Flying Lotus releases new single "Garmonbozia"

Acclaimed producer Flying Lotus (aka Steven Ellison) has returned with a new one-off single called "Garmonbozia". It's his first new song since 2022's "The Room". Named as it is after the icky substance that acts as sustenance for spirits in David Lynch's Twin Peaks universe, the song is fittingly strange and warped. This is, in other words, a Flying Lotus song. Listen here:

In addition to the mucky bass and beats, the song includes his own voice, uttering the phrase "pain and sorrow." This is directly related to the Twin Peaks connection, as within that world, the substance is said to represent the suffering of mankind, which is then consumed by the dark spirits.

FlyLo also has a few festival dates lined up, appearing at All Points East Festival in London on August 17th and at the OFF DAYS festival series on August 20th and 21st in Hamburg and Berlin.

Even though Flying Lotus hasn't released an album since 2019's Flamagra, Ellison has been busy. He did an original score for the Netflix series Yasuke, whose story he also had a hand in. He also recently wrapped production on Ash, an upcoming sci-fi film he directed starring Aaron Paul and Eiza González.
