Musician Flea, famously the bassist for Red Hot Chili Peppers, is set to release his debut solo record Honora on March 27th. The album was announced back in December, but today we have been given some more details about its release, along with a new single.
Listen to "Traffic Lights", featuring Thom Yorke, below.
Yorke contributes vocals, lyrics, piano and synth to the new track. The animation in the song's visualizer was made by Mexican artist nespy5euro.
Honora will take Flea back to his roots: playing the trombone, along with his beloved bass, and dabbling in jazz. Nick Cave is also a featured vocalist on the album, and Flea's band is composed of skilled jazz musicians like saxophonist Josh Johnson and guitarist Jeff Parker.
Along with six original songs, Honora has interpretations of tunes by George Clinton, Jimmy Webb, and others. There's even a Frank Ocean cover on the tracklist, which you can check out down below.
Ahead of "Traffic Lights", Flea had also released the teaser track "A Plea" back in December, a 7-minute work that features himself on vocals.
In support of the new album, Flea and the Honora band announced tour dates in the US and Europe. You can check those out down below.
