Fivio Foreign, Kodak Black, and Donald Trump drops bombshell single "ONBOA47RD"

Brace yourself America, the 2024 election cycle just got wilder.

New York rapper Fivio Foreign released a new track titled "ONBOA47RD" on Friday (Aug.16), featuring former President Donald Trump and controversial artist Kodak Black.

The track opens with a sample of Trump's 2017 Inaugural Address (“I will fight for you with every breath in my body and I will never ever let you down”) then transitions into Foreign and Black rapping. The message is loud and clear: to reinforce their alignment with the Republican nominee after his assassination attempt with drill and bravado.

Black doubled down on that sentiment with bars like "Told her she can have anything she want, just not my Donald chain" and "They keep askin’ ’bout Trump, but I don’t speak on family business." This isn't a surprise since the former President granted the Florida rapper a presidential pardon for his four-year federal gun sentence on the last day of his tenure.

The single was immediately met with mixed feelings, with fans denouncing the artists for publicly endorsing the former President.

Although Trump has not clarified his involvement with the track, the feature is a continuation of both nominees utilizing music, pop trends, and social media for exposure and political campaigning. Vice President Kamala Harris, for example, has hitchhiked Charli XCX's viral lime green-coded "brat summer" following President Joe Biden's exit from the 2024 presidential race and her subsequent nomination. Other notable artists such as Beyonce, Quavo, and Ariana Grande have also publicly supported Harris's bid.

On the other end of the political spectrum, musicians like Azealia Banks, Lil Pump, and Sexyy Red have openly endorsed Trump, depicting a political divide in the music industry.

As the election nears, both parties' campaign strategies to cater to youth and internet culture are apparent, as seen with Harris leveraging off her "coconut tree" comment and Trump's recent online showings with Elon Musk, Logan Paul, and Aiden Ross.
