International death metal supergroup Fimbul Winter — featuring three former members of Amon Amarth — has released a blazing new single titled "Crowned in Ash," out now via Blaekr Sound Recordings.

Regarding the song, the band states:

"'Crowned in Ash' is about enduring pain and suffering that nearly destroys you and emerging from it stronger than before. Once you reach the other side, you realize the victory you were chasing was never what you expected. The 'crown' turned out to be made of ash, and the true price was simply surviving the journey itself."

Formed in 2023, the band consists of founding Amon Amarth members Niko Kaukinen on drums and Anders Biazzi on guitar, former Amon Amarth drummer Fredrik Andersson on lead guitar. Munitions vocalist Clint Williams is on vocals.

Recorded by Andreas Moren and Shaun Farrugia, and mixed/mastered by Marko Tervonen, the single features bass duties performed by Risa Andersson. The album's cover art was created by Katarzyna Urbanek.
