Fazerdaze previews new album ‘Soft Power’ with lead single “Cherry Pie”

Having come back from an intense burnout with 2022's acclaimed EP Break!, New Zealand artist Amelia Murray (aka Fazerdaze) has today announced the long-awaited full-length follow-up to her 2017 debut Morningside.

Arriving 15 November, Soft Power is described by Murray as a "bedroom stadium record," adding electronic and classic rock touches to her DIY sound. Murray recorded and produced the 11-track album herself, and had a hand in the mixing process too.

New single "Cherry Pie" follows the September 2023 release of "Bigger", which also appears on the album. As Murray explains, the song "began as lyrics on my phone during my first overseas trip to LA almost ten years ago. Now, at 31, this song has journeyed with me through many different versions of myself." Watch the video below:

Introducing the album in a press release, Murray says:

“This is what I created during the darkest, loneliest, most tumultuous years of my life – entering womanhood, navigating the world, the music industry, and what I thought was love. In my scariest moments, this album was my anchor for hope, purpose, and light. I am so relieved and content to finally share Soft Power with you.”

Soft Power tracklist:

1. Soft Power
2. So Easy
3. Bigger
4. Dancing Years
5. In Blue
6. A Thousand Years
