Experience Hendrix L.L.C. release 'Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision' full box set

Today, Experience Hendrix L.L.C. has collaborated with Legacy Recordings in conjunction with the release of Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision. A deluxe box set complete with a feature-length documentary about Jimi Hendrix’s career, including an extended album of 39 songs – 38 of which are from the guitarist’s archives.

The full album was recorded by the Jimi Hendrix Experience (Billy Cox on bass, Mitch Mitchell on drums) at Electric Lady Studios between June and August 1970. In addition to unreleased music, the project also features 5.1 surround sound retouches and remixes of Hendrix’s 1997 compilation album First Rays Of The New Rising Sun.

Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision offers a glimpse into the extravagant world Hendrix created throughout his discography. It’s a chronological look at the work of the late guitarist and shares raw footage of Hendrix, his band, music industry connections and contract workers building his studio in New York. Officially the first-ever artist-owned commercial recording studio to open, Electric Lady Studios holds great significance in both Hendrix’s world and the music industry as we know it.

Also home to the recordings of industry giants The Clash, AC/DC, Chic and David Bowie (to list a few), Electric Lady Studios' legacy extends far beyond the unfortunate passing of Hendrix. In this exclusive documentary box set, Experience Hendrix L.L.C. and Legacy Recordings resurrect some of the most precious moments in music history, to re-tell the story of one of America's most successful guitarists.
