Everything But The Girl announces new album 'Blue Reservoir,' share "Young and Dumb" music video

Everything But the Girl have announced their eleventh studio album, Blue Reservoir, out February 19 via Virgin.

"Young and Dumb" is the record's lead single, highlighting Watt's Spanish influences. It was released today, along with the album announcement. Check it out:

The track offers context for Blue Reservoir, primarily regarding the band's decision to make another studio album. Watt admits he'd never owned a Spanish guitar before writing and recording the LP. However, those sounds catalyzed much of Everything But the Girl's vast discography. He purchased the guitar specifically to write Blue Reservoir.

The pair's audacious attempt to record the album in just a few weeks proves the song's sentiment. They recorded most of it at RAK Studios in London in just ten days. Bruno Ellingham returns as the LP's producer.

Describing the record, Thorn says, “Direct, rooted in guitar and voice, a few extra colors. We hadn’t been in that world for a long time, and it just felt fresh and real.”

The new record's inspiration draws from their MOTH nightclub shows, and follows 2023's Fuse, which itself was the pair's first album in 24 years.
