Ethel Cain covers American Football's "For Sure" from their debut record

Singer-songwriter Ethel Cain has done a cover of the track “For Sure“ from Midwest emo outfit American Football’s eponymous debut. This is the second single after Iron & Wine's "Never Meant" released as part of a new covers album to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their LP1. Other features are Blondshell and the Manchester Orchestra.

Additionally, there's an upcoming new remastered double-LP of the record (“Never Meant"'s and "For Sure"'s remastered versions are already out). Both the covers and remastered albums are releasing this 18 October via Polyvinyl.

A month ago, they shared a 24-second teaser video on X captioned as “track one”. The footage shows the iconic house featured in the cover of their debut album while a country-like instrumental is played. The video finishes with a black screen and the date “07.31.2024”. Fans expect this to be a snippet for a new studio album.

Last month, the iconic house on the cover of LP1 went up for rent on Airbnb.
