Earl Sweatshirt announces new album 'Live Laugh Love' at LA listening party

Yesterday, Californian rapper Earl Sweatshirt held a listening party for his newest project Live Laugh Love, which is set to release this Friday August 22. The listening party was hosted by an Earl impersonator, and included a DJ performing what appears to be a new Earl Sweatshirt project.

Though many people assumed the album to be a prank, with the jokey album title and imposter emcee, Earl made the announcement official on his Instagram, with a Lebron James Meme, a snippet, and a caption reading "8/22 LLLz."

Even though the Instagram post seems to solidify the announcement, fans are unsure if the album is real. Comedian and rapper Zack Fox attended and recorded the event, with many thinking this was all some elaborate comedy sketch or potential music video. The comedy culminated when the DJ announced he was "bringing his brother out," and it ended up being a guy who looked nothing like Earl Sweatshirt.

At the listening party, attendants were handed copies of a zine with a page of contributors (not contributing to the album, but to the zine). These contributors include actor Steven Yeun, producer The Alchemist, and stand-up comedian Dave Chappelle, among others. Donald Glover writes, "Don't let them get you in trouble for being who you are," while Vince Staples wrote, "I have nothing to say."
