Fall is around the corner, and that means primetime NFL games will finally be back on TV again as the leaves change colors. Since football season is almost here, like every year, Madden NFL (the video game) is also on the horizon.
EA Sports' juggernaut football simulation video game franchise Madden NFL will once again hit the shelves this year, with Madden NFL 25 as the newest entry in the series. EA Sports has revealed the soundtrack in advance to get players excited on what tunes they'll be listening to as they're cracking helmets on the virtual gridiron.
The soundtrack is loaded with high profile artists and newer music, featuring songs from the likes of Eminem, ScHoolboy Q, Doja Cat, and many more. As is typical, much of the music this year is dominated by rap and hip hop songs.

EA has also listed the soundtrack for listening on Apple Music as well.
EA also says that the game features exclusive music from hip hop legends Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, by giving players the opportunity to listen to the arena music in the menus for the first time, which will double the amount of songs for the soundtrack. The full list of arena tracks has not yet been revealed.
Sports game soundtracks have always been a popular thing to talk about in gaming. Previous Madden NFL soundtracks have had a vast array of artists from all genres, from Green Day to Lil Wayne. EA Sports brought back their old college football video game franchise from the dead with the recent release of EA SPORTS College Football 25, and the music included in that game has been heavily discussed.
One of the biggest songs included in EA SPORTS College Football 25 is "Mo Bamba" by Sheck Wes. The song will play on the field at random moments in the game, just like how it does at college football games in real life. YouTuber Bordeaux gave a side by side comparison of "Mo Bamba" being played at Penn State's Beaver Stadium virtually and in reality.
It's definitely worth noting the significance music can bring to sports games. Even though its not necessarily a vital aspect of what makes a sports video game good or not, music is important to many players, as it can further immerse them into the experience. The music sort of gives these games their own identity, and they are also a window to the past of what era they came out in. Loading up a Madden NFL game from the 2000s and getting that rush of nostalgia of emo pop punk and bling era rap music makes the experience so much more enjoyable for many gamers who remembered singing along to these songs years ago.
Madden NFL 25 releases on August 16th, while the deluxe edition releases on August 13th, giving players extra content and three days early access for a bit of extra cash. You can pre-order the game here.
