Although it wasn't officially released until 2007, the Bob Dylan song "I'm Not There" was written and recorded 40 years earlier. Now, almost another two decades later, a typewritten copy of a working draft of the lyrics has been discovered inside a first-edition copy of Allen Ginsberg's longform poem Ankor Wat.
The book once belonged to Sally Grossman, the wife of Dylan's first manager, who appeared on the cover of Dylan's 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home. Adding to its value, the book is also signed by Ginsberg himself who gifted it to Grossman in October 1969.

As described by Omega Auctions, who will put the torn lyric sheet up for bidding in April, the book was part of Grossman's estate sold to a book dealer after her death in 2021, and the hidden lyric sheet was only discovered by chance when it fell out of the book while leafing through. It is expected to fetch between £20,000 and £40,000 (between 26,000 and 53,000 US dollars).
In other news, the artist raised eyebrows yesterday when news of his new Patreon account spread across the internet, amid claims of AI use, possible pseudonyms, and generally very on-brand confusion. Dylanologists are going to have a field day and/or a stroke.
Speak of which, the man himself is currently on tour through the American midwest and south. Remaining dates below:
