Dorothea Paas announces new album 'Think of Mist', shares new single

Toronto-based singer/songwriter Dorothea Paas has announced Think of Mist, her followup to her Polaris Prize-nominated 2021 debut, Anything Can't Happen. The album is out November 15 via Telephone Explosion.

In addition to the announcement, Paas has shared lead single "Autumn Roses", along with a self-directed video. Listen/watch below:

In addition to her solo work, Paas is perhaps best known as being part of the touring band for U.S. Girls, in addition to playing on the Meg Remy-led outfit's last two records.

Of the new song, Paas says in a press release:

"This song is about the sickening, invigorating feeling of falling for someone, and how pain and affliction contour the sweetness of love, giving it more depth and vitality. It can be so embarrassing to reveal yourself to someone, especially when you fear rejection; but I always say that anything worth doing lies on the other side of possible humiliation!"

Think of Mist is described as "lushly textured and sonically unique - turning from sprawling experimentation to unabashedly catchy bops and back again," and promises varied vocal techniques from "Kate Bush-style" screams to creating a wall of soft vocal harmonies.

Pre-order on Paas's Bandcamp.
