Donald Trump accepts endorsement from AI-Generated Taylor Swift fans

Steve Acedo

On Sunday night, Donald Trump shared a series of AI-generated images on Truth Social falsely claiming Taylor Swift and her fans have endorsed his 2024 presidential campaign.

Ironically, Trump himself did not create the images, they are screenshots tweets from various users. The first images depict Taylor Swift fans wearing shirts that say "Swifties for Trump". Per Deadline, when asked about the post, Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Cheung had this to say: "Swifties for Trump is a massive movement that grows bigger every single day."

It is important to note that mixed in among the AI images are two real photographs of the same woman wearing a Swifties for Trump shirt. The rest however, are AI-generated.

One image is a screenshot of an article claiming that this movement is related to the recently foiled terror plot that caused her to cancel her 3 shows in Vienna. That article is (discretely) labelled as satire. The post also contains an image of Taylor herself, posed up like the iconic Uncle Sam "I Want You" poster, reading "Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump."

Despite the AI of it all, Trump was proud to receive such a glowing endorsement, captioning his post "I accept!'

Taylor Swift has been quiet about her voting plans this election cycle. However, in 2020, she had strong words for the former president, tweeting "We will vote you out in November"

Taylor Swift has not publicly endorsed any presidential candidates in the 2024 election.
