Disturbed show damages Chicago Bulls Championship banners

At a Chicago Bulls game soon after Disturbed played at the same venue for their The Sickness 25th anniversary tour, fans noticed something missing.

Apparently, the Chicago Bulls's six Championship banners from the 1990s were nowhere to be seen. It was found that they are currently undergoing repair after Disturbed's pyrotechnic-fueled show caused damage to them.

A spokesperson stated the following:

United Center is currently working with the Bulls to explore options to repair these banners. While the banners will not be in place for the remainder of this season, we do anticipate them being back in place next season.

These banners are from the 1991, 1992, and 1993 seasons, which then saw Michael Jordan suddenly retiring in order to pursue baseball for a couple of seasons. When he returned, the team went on to add 1996, 1997 and 1998 to their championship wins.

Heat damaged warped the bottom of the banners, necessitating their replacement.
