What’s so amazing that keeps us star-gazing? What do we think we might see? Why, Jonas Brothers and Boyz II Men of course! For the Disneyland 70th Anniversary! Well, even if you don’t see them, patrons of the park will surely be hearing a lot of them.
Celebrating their 70th anniversary, Disneyland has added seven new songs to the Disneyland official playlist; the tracks will be playing across the park throughout the year. The songs were released today (May 13) on streaming by Walt Disney Records.
The anniversary album, Music from Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration, features the event’s anthem, “Celebrate Happy,” performed by the Jonas Brothers. The song was written by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson, the songwriting duo behind the off-broadway musical, The Book Thief, and Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. Boyz II Men also feature prominently on a grandiose, theme-park inspired rendition of Kermit the Frog’s “Rainbow Connection” from The Muppet Movie.
Millennial liberal-college graduates will rejoice at the a capella inspired tracks, “Nobody Like U” and “I2I,” which feature Scott Hoying of Pentatonix, and Grayson Villanueva and Topher Ngo from the film Turning Red. The soundtrack is rounded out by FITZ, from Fitz and The Tantrums, and Flor de Toloache, an all-female mariachi band based in New York City.
