Destroyer shares new single "Cataract Time", announces North American tour

Dan Bejar has shared another new single from his upcoming Destoyer record, Dan's Boogie. (Pre-order here.)

The record is out March 28 via Merge, and this third taste is called "Cataract Time". It comes with a particularly idyllic visualizer. Watch/listen below:

The song was created with longtime collaborator John Collins. In a press release, Bejar had this to say about the new song, which is being called the "centerpiece" to "shaping the sound" of the album:

"The song is a reckoning, a dressing down, a walk in the park where you carefully record your steps and describe the park and somehow the recording and the description undoes you. Which is why it’s important that the song be as groovy as it is. That part I didn’t see coming. There is a lightness that points to a future, even if I think it’s the heaviest thing I’ve ever written. John outdid himself in the mix. His filigree harps changed everything. I think it is his favourite song on the record."

Additionally, Bejar has announced a pretty sizable US tour in support of the new LP. The tour will feature a full seven-piece band, making it his first full-band tour of NA in three years. The tour will see him go from Oregon, all around the country, and back up to the Northwest in Washington, before concluding with a Vancouver show.
