Destoyer, the musical project of Canadian singer/songwriter Dan Bejar, has announced new record Dan's Boogie. The new album is Bejar's first since 2022's Labyrinthitis.

Dan's Boogie is out March 28 via Merge. With this news also comes the first single, "Bologna". Watch the David Galloway-directed music video below:

The song is seen as something of charting new territory for Bejar, as it is "the first song Bejar’s ever written for the band in which he imagines himself as a supporting character." It includes prominent vocals from Fiver's Simone Schmidt.

Of the song, Bejar says:

"I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna,’ ... I struggled singing the first and third verses, the most important parts of the song. They needed gravity and grit. The threat of disappearing needed to be real. So I called Simone."

The album overall promises to cover lots of Destroyer's myriad musical grounds, from "spectacle-laden pop epics" to "smouldering works of mood that blur the lines between song and novel and cinema."
