Rapper Desiigner is facing a new series of felony charges after authorities say he assaulted the mother of his child, damaged multiple vehicles, and forced his way into a neighbor's home during a violent domestic dispute in South Carolina.
The "Panda" rapper was arrested on Wednesday (July 15) in Horry County, South Carolina, and remains in custody. According to arrest records, he has been charged with one count of second-degree domestic violence and three counts of malicious injury to animals or personal property involving damage between $2,000 and $10,000.
According to a police report, the incident began after an argument inside the couple's shared home over Desiigner allegedly removing televisions from the walls. The woman told investigators the confrontation turned physical when the rapper smashed both of her cell phones with a hammer, preventing her from calling 911.
Fearing for her safety, she fled the home while carrying their child and sought help from nearby neighbors. After finding one home empty, she ran to another residence. She told police Desiigner chased her through a yard, threw her to the ground while she was holding the child, ripped a designer handbag from her shoulder, and tossed it away before she managed to escape inside the neighbor's house.
The woman said she locked herself inside a bathroom while Desiigner allegedly continued the rampage outside, using a hammer and screwdriver to damage multiple vehicles belonging to neighbors. Police say he then grabbed a chair from the porch and hurled it through the front window of the home, forcing entry and shattering several additional windows.
Authorities estimate the woman suffered roughly $2,700 in property damage from the destruction of her phones and Dior handbag, while damage to the neighbor's property is estimated at approximately $6,000.
Two witnesses reportedly called 911 during the incident. Police say Desiigner later approached another neighbor and repeatedly struck the person's vehicle window while asking to use a phone.
Officers arrested the rapper at the scene before transporting him to Conway Medical Center for treatment. He was later booked into the Horry County Detention Center.
The arrest marks Desiigner's second domestic violence case in less than four months. In March, he was arrested on a charge of third-degree domestic violence following an alleged altercation involving the same woman. Audio from a 911 call made during that incident later surfaced, in which Desiigner could be heard arguing with the woman, telling her to kill herself while also informing the dispatcher that he was suicidal. He was released on a $1,500 bond following that arrest.
Desiigner's next court appearance in the latest case is scheduled for Oct. 16.
