Deradoorian signs with Fire Records, shares new song "Digital Gravestone"

Deradoorian has shared a brand new song, a percussive psych rock meditation called "Digital Gravestone". It's the first glimpse of a new album project that'll see the light of day in the spring of 2025.

"Digital Gravestone" is composed around a brittle dub-like bass line, skeletal rhythms, and feverishly buzzing synths, painting a post-apocalyptic atmosphere. But beneath the dust and the rubble, fortunately, we hear signs of life in the form of Angel Deradoorian's spectral vocals and screeching sax flourishes.

Listen to the "Digital Gravestone" below:

Deradoorian on "Digital Gravestone":

"A conglomeration of  broken imagery of a deserted world. Ideas surrounding genocide and the regeneration of the survivors. A survivor of [the Armenian] genocide, I am the daughter of the only son of the only surviving grandfather.  The song touches on the power of belief. Looking toward someone or something higher than ourselves to  keep hope alive amongst decay."

Deradoorian is an in-demand multi-instrumentalist who first gained fame as a key member of Dirty Projectors between 2007 and 2013. She was previously signed to Fire Records as one half of Decisive Pink, the oddball pop project she founded with fellow composer Kate NV.

The upcoming Deradoorian album will be her third solo album, following The Expanding Flower Planet (2015) and Find The Sun (2020).
