After a quiet last few years, with many fans curious about their official status, it appears that we have received some indirect confirmation that experimental hip hop group Death Grips are no more.

They toured in 2023, and even released a couple previously unheard tracks on their website, but things have not been looking good for the group since then.

A Reddit user recently posted their Instagram DMs with Andy Morin, audio engineer for Death Grips, in which they explicitly asked about the group's status.

Here's what he said:

Yeah it's over, Stefan [MC Ride] doesn't want to do any more. But truthfully none of us can ever predict what will happen with the group

While it appears there is a glimmer of hope, no matter how small, it's safe to assume that we shouldn't hold our breath.
