Seminal 2000s indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie have announced today that they've signed to ANTI- Records for future releases, following the conclusion of their contract with Atlantic. They join a roster of indie powerhouses like Neko Case, Fleet Foxes, MJ Lenderman, and many more.
Frontman Ben Gibbard is using the occasion to hint at new music on the horizon, saying:
"We are thrilled to be joining the roster at ANTI- which includes some of our favorite artists, old friends and in many cases, both. We also can’t wait to begin this new chapter with the wonderful staff at ANTI- and share with you what we’ve been working on."
The band have also announced a summer headline tour across North America, beginning on July 10th in Minneapolis. Japanese Breakfast, Nation of Language, and Jay Som will support on select dates. Presale begins Wednesday, January 28 at 10am local time with the general on sale to the public starting at 10am local on Friday, January 30.
