Danish/Dutch cross-pop duo miaw – formed by producer Frederik Fog and Liza Dries – have shared an ethereal new song called "moving in". It's the project's first new music since their 2024 debut EP My Petswan.
Check out the music video below:
Fog and Dries blended sampled, fragmented vocals, surreal electronics, unorthodox drum sounds, and shoegaze guitars into a song that is both explosive and intimate.
Dries on the making on the "moving in":
"We basically set up for a small recording session in Berlin. There was left-over furniture in the room when I arrived, a single person bed and couch standing upright vertically against the wall. We moved them around to create a vocal booth – and that same night we started working on “moving in”. Originally recorded way slower– I don’t know how or when it happened, but we drove the track up almost by half the tempo. As per usual we’re going quite fluent and intuitive on the production, like lego bricks – feeling the mood and setting of the song. Even though the weather was beautiful on arrival in Berlin, the feeling of starting new and leaving home and friends behind brought the gloomy or melancholic energy of the track.”
