On September 8, authorities responded to reports of a foul odor coming from an impounded Tesla at a Hollywood tow yard. Inside the vehicle’s front trunk, they discovered a decomposing body. The car was registered to R&B and bedroom pop artist d4vd.

According to NBC 4, the victim has now been identified as a teenage girl, believed to be between 14 and 15 years old. The suspected cause of death has not been publicly disclosed

A Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s report stated that the body was “severely decomposed” and had likely been inside the car “for an extended period of time before being found.” The report also noted that the girl had wavy black hair and a tattoo on her right index finger that read, “Shhh…”

Authorities confirmed that d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has been informed of the investigation and is cooperating with law enforcement. The singer is currently in the midst of his Withered tour.
