Clipse's Let God Sort Em Out Tour is off to a fiery start. After hitting up Boston, New York City and their hometown of Virginia Beach, the hip-hop duo touched down in L.A. where they brought out a surprise guest: Compton's own Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick joined Pusha T and Malice for a performance of "Chains & Whips", their collaboration from the recent Clipse project, Let God Sort Em Out. This marks the first live performance of the song featuring all three lyricists.
After Kendrick performed his verse to a delighted LA crowd, he told them that it was "such a privilege to be in front of motherf***ing legends." After dapping up his collaborators, he told the crowd "I'm gonna be out there watching with y'all" before leaving the stage.
"Chains & Whips" is already a storied song in Clipse's career. In addition to it being a fan favorite off THE album, it is the center of the duo's falling out with their former label, Def Jam. According to them, the label was concerned about releasing a song with both Pusha and Kendrick, two noted antagonists of Drake, who was embroiled in a legal battle with Def Jam's parent company, Universal Music Group.
"They wanted me to ask Kendrick to censor his verse, which of course I was never doing,β Pusha T told GQ. βAnd then they wanted me to take the record off. And so, after a month of not doing it, Steve Gawley, the lawyer over there, was like, βWe'll just drop the Clipse.β But that can't work because I'm still there [solo]. But [if] you let us all goβ¦."
The disagreement ended with Clipse buying their way out of the deal with Def Jam and releasing their album under Roc Nation.
The Let God Sort 'Em Tour is continuing in North America through September with stops in Las Vegas, Chicago, and many more.
