Circuit des Yeux announces new album 'Halo on the Inside', shares first single "Megaloner"

Circuit des Yeux, the project of Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist Haley Fohr, has officially announced new album Halo on the Inside, out March 14th via Matador.

The album announcement comes with the unveiling of its chilling opening track, "Megaloner". In the past, we could count on Fohr to blend colder textures with psychedelic folk, kraut rock, and neoclassical. No such thing on "Megaloner", which channels the barren atmospheres of a Nine Inch Nails, EMA, or even her own alter ego project, Jackie Lynn.

Watch and listen below:

Fohr has commented on her new song:

“Megaloner is an anthem for the place that exists after an action and inside its consequence. Prices are being paid and hope is our currency. I’m singing about endurance, faith, agency, and the singular, unbelievable path toward one’s own fate."

The song follows the earlier standalone single "God Dick", which does not appear on Halo on the Inside. The new album marks a shift in Fohr's recording and writing methods, forging most of the songs in the late night hours when everyone's asleep, looking for, in her words, “play and melody through software malfunction and feedback.”  She continues:

“Through the process of making this music I was able to rewind myself to a time before fear ... And in the absence of fear I found the intimate beat of sex, love, and melody.”

Circuit des Yeux is hitting the road this week as a solo act, supporting Alan Sparhawk, followed by a tally of full-band backed dates in April and May. Find those dates below.
