Christopher Owens (formerly of Girls) announces first solo album in nine years

A dozen years after the iconic indie rock group dissolved, former lead singer/songwriter Christopher Owens has announced his first solo album since 2015. Entitled I Wanna Run Barefoot Through Your Hair, the effort succeeds 2015's Chrissybaby Forever. The record is no doubt influenced by the hardships Owens has experienced in that time, from a serious motorcycle accident and experiencing homelessness to losing his Girls partner, Chet "JR" White, in 2020.

In July, Owens released the song "I Think About Heaven", his first in seven years. It was the lead single for the album, co-produced with Doug Boehm. Sandy Kim is responsible for album photography; both worked with Girls in previous years. In addition, the record is being released on True Panther, the label that represented Girls.

Owens describes the album as "a record about a journey back to the center of myself." And now Owens has shared new single "No Good", accompanied by a stripped back version for a video. Watch that below:
