Independent artist-producers MUNYA and Kainalu have shared their latest collaborative track, "The Only One". The song pairs both artist’s styles in pitch perfect, electro-funk fun, working MUNYA's multilingual lyrics with Kainalu’s bedroom-psych production - check out the official release right here:
The track was produced in both artist’s home studios, with their cozy vibes easily working into the music itself. In a recent Instagram post, MUNYA shared the single’s hand-painted artwork along with some thoughts on her creative process:
Sometimes I sit at my desk for hours before a good idea comes up. I’m intimidated by creativity. I get too much in my head and my thoughts take control of my instinct. But “creativity occurs in the moment, and in the moment we are timeless”. It felt really good working on this series of paintings for our songs. I don’t have the skills of a painter and had zero expectations. I just painted without thinking and it felt so good.
MUNYA and Kainalu have previously collaborated on their cover of "Don’t Go Away" on the compilation album Like Someone I Know: A Celebration of Margo Guryan - a tribute to the late artist and her 1968 album Take a Picture.
"The Only One" can be streamed on all major platforms now, along with both artists' latest LPs.
