Charli xcx announces new album ‘Music, Fashion, Film’

Charli xcx has announced her seventh studio album, Music, Fashion, Film.

It’s only been four months since we last heard new music from Charli in her soundtrack album to Wuthering Heights, but she hasn’t released a full-length studio album since 2024’s Brat. It’s also only been six months since the release of The Moment, a mockumentary about her 2024 Brat tour.

“My new album Music, Fashion Film is out july 24th.” Charli wrote on a post on Instagram, “11 songs, 30 minutes, 5 seconds. available to pre order now, love you xx.”

The album cover, shot by frequent collaborator and The Moment director Aidan Zamiri, features a legendary figure from each of the three disciplines in the album’s title: John Cale for music, Marc Jacobs for fashion, and Martin Scorsese for film.

Charli has signaled that her new album will be something of a sonic departure from her recent projects, with the two singles ‘Rock Music’ and ‘SS26’ featuring a prominent distorted guitar in contrast to the synths that have dominated her previous records.
